Dear Lang,
Over the past few years we have discussed Sunn Classic’s
future plans for a motion picture, television and
theme park studio complex. Given your goal of constructing
the most technically advanced studio and entertainment
center in the world, we believe our SkyTran maglev
transporter system could play an important role in
Sunn Classic’s plans and the future development
of the Coachella Valley, its economy, growth and
employment opportunities.
With regard to the transportation challenges, we
look forward to working with Sunn Classic as it considers
SkyTran for its high-speed transit needs. Incorporating
one of our systems to travel the entire perimeter
of the studio/theme park, which would include stops
at the casino, hotel, theme park, retail center,
school, convention center, etc., could be the basis
of a region-wide transportation solution that could
have extremely beneficial economic ramifications
not only for Sunn Classic’s development but
all the region’s stakeholders. The proposed
system would not only drive tourism to your complex
and other businesses but limit pollution, auto noise,
road congestion and free up parking spaces, lower
taxes and offer local seniors and children an inexpensive
and safe way to travel to their destinations (doctor
visits, school, shopping, etc.).
Also, with our unique SkyTran two passenger streamlined
vehicles, the public travels safely, nonstop to their
desired destination, at speeds of 100 mph in urban
areas and between 100-150 mph in the suburban and
rural areas. One will only be minutes away from any
destination. Plus, the vehicles are extremely energy
efficient getting the equivalent of over 200 MPG.
Additionally, we know that the public, as well as
ourselves, are greatly concerned about the potential
threat of terrorism. SkyTran is the only transit
system able to lower the threat substantially by
eliminating crowds as a result of our vehicles carrying
only two passengers. Yet, one SkyTran guideway using
our small pods is capable of handling the same volume
of traffic as a 3-lane freeway. Also, SkyTran is
on-demand---there is no standing around waiting to
be picked up like other forms of transit. Camera
surveillance is monitored 24 hours a day.
As we discussed last week, Unimodal is in discussions
with NASA for use of our technology in their micro-gravity
program. This may be of interest as it could lead
to the development of a new class of high-speed maglev
roller coasters that would break all height and speed
records. Something to consider in making your entertainment
center a world-class destination.
In closing, it is our hope that Sunn Classic’s
use of SkyTran for its development could serve as
a model demonstrating the benefits and need for this
form of transportation on a worldwide basis.
